EGYPTIAN MUMMY

The Egyptian mummy preserved in the A.P.State Museum, Hyderabad is that of a young girl aged between 16 to 18 years, daughter of the VI Pharoah of Egypt. The mummy is dated to 2500 B.C. It is one of the six Mummies preserved in Indian Museums. This was brought by Nazeer Nawaz Jung, the son-in-law of Mir Mahaboob Ali Khan, the VI Nizam of Hyderabad in 1920s for a throwaway price of 1000 pounds and gifted to Mir Osman Ali Khan, the VII Nizam of Hyderabad, who in turn donated it to the Hyderabad Museum when it was opened in 1930.

Recent X-Ray studies conducted on the Mummy revealed that the body is intact and only one tooth is found missing.
